Dr. Elizabeth Callahan founded SkinSmart Dermatology in 2005 in Sarasota, FL, offering a broad-based, integrated practice with multiple specialists working together under one roof to meet the diverse needs of patients.

Brooke Robbins, ARNP
Brooke joined SkinSmart in 2006. She earned her nursing degree from the University of Vermont and received her Master’s degree as an advanced nurse practitioner from the University of South Florida. She has ten years of subspecialty experience in dermatology, her passion.
Brooke specializes in advanced medical care, including the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers as well as the removal of benign and malignant skin growths.
Elena Kesterson, PA-C
Elena joined SkinSmart this year with seven years dermatology experience. She was originally a medical doctor in Russia specializing in obstetrics and gynecology before moving to the United States to train in dermatology. She received a Master’s degree in physician assistant studies (specializing in dermatology) at Bethel College in Tennessee.
She specializes in medical dermatology, skin cancer detection and also has extensive experience with surgical dermatology.
April Piana, LE
April is a Licensed Esthetician and has been providing treatments at SkinSmart Dermatology since the opening of our SkinFitness Center. She studied at the Fashion Focus Hair Academy, completing her license in skin care in 2004, and was trained by Dr. Elizabeth Callahan in advanced aesthetic techniques at SkinSmart Dermatology.
April provides aesthetic treatments including: customized facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, and brow makeovers, as well as Pelleve Skin Tightening. April believes that every SkinSmart patient can have great skin and specializes in providing SkinHealth analysis and developing effective skincare programs for her patients at SkinSmart Dermatology.
