Microdermabrasion is the most effective, non-invasive skin resurfacing process available for the cost. This highly effective treatment can achieve younger looking, healthy skin with no downtime.  Microdermabrasion smoothes away fine lines and wrinkles and stimulates collagen and elastin production. Both safe and effective, this treatment is the ideal way to rejuvenate and maintain skin. In some instances, it can be an effective alternative to laser and deep chemical peel resurfacing without the recovery periods common to both.

Q: What skin conditions does microdermabrasion treat?

A: Microdermabrasion improves dull or uneven skin color, relieves clogged pores/blackheads, refines the appearance of fine lines and large pores and softens roughness or thickened patches of dead skin.

Q: Are the microdermabrasion treatments available at a day spa essentially the same?

A: No. At SkinSmart, we use a very sophisticated state of the art machine: the medical grade DiamondTome™ Microdermabrasion machine available exclusively through physicians. This particle free system uses diamond-tipped wands to exfoliate the outer skin and provide a fresh, younger appearance, without the adverse affects of loose particles, irritation and skin reaction. The cutting edge mechanical technology employed in this treatment uses microscopic diamond chips to also smooth away superficial fine lines.



Q: Can this treatment be used on areas other than the face?

A: Yes! Performed by our highly trained and licensed aestheticians, sensitive areas such as the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands can be treated with little or no irritation and results are immediately visible.

Q: How many treatments will I need?

A: After one treatment, the results are visible on any skin type and color with evident improvements in both skin texture and appearance.  Because microdermabrasion relieves clogged pores/blackheads and softens roughness or thickened patches of dead skin, the fresh skin just below the surface is exposed, revealing a glowing complexion. Multiple treatments are recommended to improve mild to moderate sun damage, scarring, surface wrinkles, and other superficial skin problems. For best results, we generally recommend a series of six Microdermabrasion sessions, with treatments every 2-3 weeks to achieve optimal results.
