Dr. Callahan uses Pellevé to treat the following issues:

How they Work

Ultherapy is a new type of non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that uses ultrasound and the body’s own natural healing process to lift, tone, and tighten loose skin on the brow, neck, and under the chin.

It is the only FDA-approved procedure to lift skin on these hard-to-treat areas, using the energy of ultrasound to stimulate the deep structural support layers of the skin without disturbing the surface of the skin.

Pellevé uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat the deep layers of the skin just enough to cause the collagen to contract and tighten without damaging the top layer or epidermis. This heat also stimulates the production of new collagen, resulting in tighter, smoother skin. The final result is improved skin quality and firmness that you can see and feel. Pellevé does not interact with melanin, so it can be used on all skin types including darker skin.

Enhanced Filler Results

Dr. Callahan uses Ultherapy and Pellevé treatments in combination with other treatments to amplify the results of each. She calls this principle “1 + 1 = 3.” If you have a visible wrinkle line, crease or groove, an injectable dermal filler will help. But those wrinkles mean that your skin has lost its firmness, thickness and elasticity and needs to be restored first. Ultherapy or Pellevé are ideal solutions. Here are some examples of how we can enhance filler results:

  • Hard V-shaped lip lines can be softened to a soft U-shape with both Ultherapy and Pellevé. This leads to a smoother look once the filler is injected.
  • Both can be used to reduce the thickness of the high side of nasolabial folds, glabella lines, and marionette lines, reducing them to soft, shallow grooves.
  • Crow’s feet can be softened by flattening the high ridges and firming the low areas of the creases.

Ultherapy for the full face and neck can take about 60-90 minutes. There is no pretreatment necessary and there is generally no downtime afterward. In some patients, there can be a sensation as the energy is being delivered, but it’s temporary and well tolerated. Ultherapy results can be seen gradually over a few months and continue to improve. The majority of patients only need one treatment; however, some may benefit from more than one treatment.

Pellevé feels like a warm massage. No anesthesia or topical numbing agents are needed. Many patients will need a series of three to four treatments in order to get the best results. Pellevé treatments usually take from 40 minutes to one hour for a full face treatment and between 20 and 30 minutes for a treatment solely around the eyes.

Recovery & Results

After either treatment your skin may be warm and pink for a few hours, like a mild sunburn, but there is typically no downtime.
